The Ammonoid takes its form from the Ammonite spiral. The Spiral is the oldest fossil found in the natural environment and for millions of years faced adversity and change. As humans we are facing our own challenges; there is a cause and effect to everything in the environment and our actions have consequences. As you walk through or climb the immersive sculpture let the spatial history empower you to accept, explore and embrace change.

The Gympie Memorial Pillars were designed to compliment the Memorial Flame as a tribute to the military service people in Gympie and surrounds. They represent the four RSL Service Values: Courage, Sacrifice, Mateship and Endurance. The words etched onto each pillar were written to evoke personalised story-telling and memories for individuals and families connected to these service men and women.

KNOT-O-saurus Sculpture Commission by G20 Qld State Government 2014
Sculpture Commission - G20 Brisbane
The artist Remo Vallance was asked to bring his concept into reality as part of an activation at Queens Park in Brisbane for G20 Cultural Program. Standing over 3.5 meters tall and 10 meters long, aluminum pipe was twisted, bent and shaped to create a giant mother dinosaur and her two smaller babies. The public art works were installed in the park for two weeks and were covered in crochet squares that travelled from all over QLD as part of a community engagement and activation.
